Rachel Skye Jorquera graduated from Chapman University with her Master’s degree in Creative Writing. During her time there, her main focus was on poetry and feminist studies.
She worked on Chapman’s Interdisciplinary journal Anastamos. There, Rachel served on the editorial board as an editor, and eventually a Managing Director. She also served as a writing mentor for high school students.
While at Chapman, Rachel was nominated by Chapman’s MFA Director for AWP’s Intro Journals Project two years in a row.
Prior to deciding on an MFA, she received her Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach in Literature, and minored in Comparative World Literature. She also has an Associate’s of Arts Degree in Humanities and Journalism.
She currently resides in Orange County with her graphic designer husband and bulldog.
